Google Play now selling HBO shows including 'Game of Thrones' and 'The Newsroom' , HBO logo
Seven of HBO's most popular shows can now be purchased from Google Play in both standard and high definition. Game of Thrones, The Newsroom, Girls, Boardwalk Empire, Veep, True Blood, and The Wire have all been added to Google's digital store, with prices starting between $1.99 and $2.99. HD episodes demand an extra dollar, which means you'll pay up to $3.99 for more recent programming. Seasons can also be purchased in their entirety for the binge watchers among you. Google says today's announcement represents just the beginning of its partnership with HBO; in the coming months, it plans to add more shows, movies, documentaries, and other content from the premium cable network. Unfortunately for international viewers, right now HBO's content is available within the US only.
