ABC News and Facebook have partnered to bring the live stream of all the presidential debates in 2016 online. The three debates will be broadcast live across eight TV networks as they usually do, but also on ABC News Facebook page. Viewers will be able to ask questions and make comments, which said ABC will be incorporated into the Facebook live coverage. The debates will also be preceded by a new show called Talking Strait then followed by another Facebook live broadcast hosted by Nightline co-anchor Dan Harris. The first debate is September 26 in Hempstead, NY.

This is not the first time that Live Facebook has been involved in political movements this year. In July, the Clinton team took to the platform for delivering the trial of Donald Trumps. Approximately 670,000 people watched the current date, which lasted four hours. C-SPAN has also started broadcasting on its Facebook Live when television cameras were closed during a sit-in protest on the floor of the House of Representatives. Although Live Facebook did not exist during the last presidential election, the debates were broadcast online through the network stream and YouTube in the past.
